(this has nothing to do with anything, just thought this was a funny pic.)
In this world, where hope is valued as reality and truth is rhetorically manipulated, comes the ultimate quest of a lifetime. The sinful woes of Man weigh heavy upon the soul, and there is little to look forward to when no light is shed on the path. A dark and dreary forest where there is only one true destination... self.
Ortem's love of his bride to be, Yralas, had one request to Ortem before his departure into continued bloody Holy War, The Seventh Crusade... "Please, come back to me with this relic" as she hands him a precious family heirloom said to have a thorn from the Crown of Thorns. Ortem promises in return "I will come back, without seductions through the pleasure of flesh, and return to you this relic with your hand in marriage."
He returns with haste after a traumatizing realization that his bride may very well be in danger, in time to see her family slaughtered, she being a survivor from an instant fell swoop. His heart cries out with the last words said to him through her faint breath: "Remember what you promised? Have you... betrayed me?" with a tear that trickles softly down her still-warm cheek. He replies "Never" and she falls limp with that last word.
He bears witness to her soul passing on into the light in the sky. She then said in a soft ring "Worry not, my love. I told him you wouldn't betray me. I told him you would stay true." Ortem is quickly filled with shock and awe, but then it was robbed swiftly. A demon draws life from the ground beneath her corpse, captures Yralas' soul, and wastes little time to beckon Ortem to follow. Her souls screams "Save me! You Ortem follows as fast as his human legs can carry him, to see the demon dive into a dark and glowing red opening in the ground. A mysterious shadow in the form of a man yells "Hurry, we haven't much time before the opening to The Pits close!"
Ortem yells her name, making a dive into what seems like an endless fall into The Pits.
What lies for our hero into The Pits? What is his ultimate fate? How will his resolve be tested in this hell spawn place? What of the purity of Yralas' soul? Be prepared to be taken into the very place nightmares are birthed from; untold horrors thrashing with life; a reprieve that evil patiently sulked for. Enter The Pits.

I guess I just felt like being a dork with creativity... if anyone can actually get where this plotline is influenced by, I'll be shocked. I guess I have nothing to really go off of. Just doing my thing, and hanging out with abunch of friends right now.
Peace out, peoples. With your health, godspeed.
